Architecture.

It began in Switzerland. Surrounded by amazing architecture and travelling all around Europe, Cate began drawing the beautiful shapes and lines of the local architecture she observed on her travels.

When she returned to Australia she saw her home town through new eyes and was inspired to paint her home city of Fremantle. Working from life on the streets of Fremantle she created painting after painting.

Inspired by her then boss, Professor Charles Watson - author of many books - it occurred to her she had so many paintings she could make a book! It took several years of work but out of the fire came her successful art book, ‘Fremantle: City of Colour - an artist’s celebration of the port city’.

“This is a pretty book. If you bought for no other reason than to appreciate the gorgeous illustrations it would be money well spent..”
